How to Scale an Anime STL From Full-Size Export to Tabletop Mini
Anime STLs frequently export at real character height — our files intentionally ship at ~1.9 m so every target size is a clean percentage. Scary in the slicer preview, trivial to fix.
The two-number method
scale % = target height ÷ current height × 100. A 1898 mm Luffy to 33 mm eye height: 33 ÷ 1898 × 100 ≈ 1.7 %. Every product page in our catalog lists exact model dimensions so you skip the measuring step.
In Bambu Studio / Orca
Select → press S → type the percentage (lock closed so all axes follow), or type target millimeters into Z. Video demo:
In Lychee (resin)
Resize panel on the right — type millimeters directly. Scale before generating supports, and use the bounding-box readout to sanity-check: a 32 mm mini should read ~35-40 mm total with hair.
In Cura
Scale tool, keep Uniform Scaling ticked, enter the percentage. If a model imports microscopic it is an inch/mm units issue — scale by 2540 % or re-import.
The anime-specific trick: scale to the eyes
Spiky hair lies. Scale to total height and Luffy's hat or Zoro's bandana makes the character shrink relative to the party. Set eye height to 32-35 mm and let hair add whatever it adds. For groups, scale the tallest human first, then apply that same percentage to the whole crew — the Straw Hat bundle keeps its internal proportions that way.
